Whiplash is the common term for a painful injury to the ligaments, tendons, or muscles of the neck. This injury is often diagnosed in car accident victims, particularly those who are rear-ended.

Insurance companies that defend personal injury cases have tried to make whiplash into a kind of cliché, insinuating that it is a made up condition. However, personal injury victims who suffer from neck pain know better. Often these accident victims are severely hampered by whiplash and other neck injuries and these conditions can severely diminish their quality of life.
