Whiplash is the common term for a painful injury to the ligaments, tendons, or muscles of the neck. This injury is often diagnosed in car accident victims, particularly those who are rear-ended.

Insurance companies that defend personal injury cases have tried to make whiplash into a kind of cliché, insinuating that it is a made up condition. However, personal injury victims who suffer from neck pain know better.
