To those of us living in Northern New Hampshire its no secret that automobile accidents on rural highways can be deadly. A recent study by the University of Minnesota confirmed that rural auto accidents are statistically more deadly than accidents on urban roads.

University of Minnesota research by the Center of Excellence on Rural Safety found rural roads deadlier when it comes to car crashes than urban roads in 2005. The study states 72 percent of traffic fatalities happen on rural roads in Minnesota

When a negligent driver causes a fatality they will be liable for a wrongful death lawsuit. Our firm has handled many of these cases and we have seen first hand the devastation that a moment of carelessness can cause a family by a negligent driver. Please when you are driving on a rural highway be cautious. Simply because the road may be out of the way doesn't mean people don't live there or there won't be other cars driving on the same roads. If you do hurt someone in an accident on a rural roadway because you were careless or negligent you may be hearing from us.
