Yet another drug has recently been found to cause more serious health problems than it is designed to treat. The drug is Avandia and it is prescribed as a diabetes drug.

Unfortunatley it also appears to cause serious heart problems.

Two of the most commonly used drugs for diabetes, which were taken by hundreds of thousands of mostly overweight people in the UK last year, are causing widespread heart failure, scientists warn today.

This from The Guardian A UK publication that regularly publishes stories on health care and diease. When drug makers put profits before people bad things happen. The product liability laws in this country are designed to make drug manufacturers think twice before they do this. According to the law the manufacuterer is liable for any personal injuries caused by a defectively manufactured product. A product is defective if it poses an unreasonable risk of harm to the user. We believe that without these laws drug makers will act even more irresponsibly in putting profits ahead of people.

If you or a loved one has suffered a heart problem that may have been caused by use of the drug Avandia you would do well to contact an experienced product liability attorney. I have been handling product liability cases for 30 years. My firm offers free consultations.
