Computer AC Adapters Recalled By Sony

Sony is recalling VAIO Computer AC Adapters because they mail fail over time, posing an electrical shock hazard to users.

The recalled AC adapter model is Sony VGP-AC19V17, which was supplied for use with one of the following Sony products:

VAIO Docking Stations - VGP-PRBX1 and VGP-PRFE1

All-in-one VAIO Desktop Computers - VGC-LT series and VGC-JS2 series

The company has been notified of four incidents in which the adapters short circuited, however, none of the reported incidents were in the United States.

Consumers should contact Sony to arrange a free replacement. In the meantime, the adapter should be unplugged.
