Johnson & Johnson has recalled Listerine Agent Cool Blue Plaque-Detecting Rinse after concluding the product's preservatives did not effectively control certain types of micro-organisms.

Johnson & Johnson said their McNeil-PPC division recalled approximately 4 million bottles, which comes in Bubble Blast and Glacier Mint flavors.

In a release, J&J said "the company had conducted a thorough assessment and concluded the risk of illness in healthy people after use of this product was low." They said no consumers had reported any adverse health due to use. But J&J said the product could pos significant health risks in those with weakened or suppressed immune systems.
