Sometimes individuals who are involved in scary accidents develop a psychological condition known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD.

PTSD is a panic disorder that afflicts people who have been in a situation where they thought they were either going to be killed or very seriously injured. PTSD victims tend to replay the event that frightened them over and over in their minds in a subconscious attempt to dull its impact. Although insurance companies are often skeptical of paying compensation for PTSD it can be a very debilitating condition for individuals who have undergone a terrifying experience.
